Loving the spicy Cisco+Splunk takes. The "where things go to die" takes are the best.
Genuinely curious whether any sizable product purchased by Cisco has actually died.
Stagnate? Very likely. But Splunk (like Duo, OpenDNS, CloudLock, Kenna, et al.) don't just go "poof".

Granted, as a security practitioner, a security product that stagnates might as well be dead. Fair position to take.
But objectively, these products will be used by far more companies via Cisco vs. remaining independent. Might not like it, but that's the strategy and it works🤷
