Keith McCammon is a co-founder and the Chief Security Officer at Red Canary, pioneers in Managed Detection and Response (MDR), detection engineering, and modern security operations. Keith established Red Canary’s security organization and product direction, building a team and culture focused intently on delivering world-class security outcomes to businesses of every size through delivery of highly effective products, services, and educational resources.

Keith’s primary areas of interest are enterprise technology and risk management. In particular, he takes an interest in the relationship between technology adoption and the security industry’s response to emerging and established business technologies in the form of security products, security operations, and the services that enable organizations to leverage them at scale to reduce realized risk.

He has over two decades of security and technology experience. Prior to focusing on information security, Keith worked on national and global telecommunications infrastructure. His work in telecommunications focused increasingly on security, leading him to found the inaugural Snort (network intrustion detection) user group in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Prior to founding Red Canary in 2013, Keith spent over a decade supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence community, primarily in the areas of Computer Network Operations (CNO) and sigals intelligence (SIGINT) collection and exploitation.
